Morning fashionistas,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. My Minnietonka boots turned up, I am so smitten. My only other fashionable act was to purchase some long red leather fringe earings from Etsy. I'm worrying that my americana obsession might be going too far but I'm sure it will be fine as long as I don't wear it all top to toe. Photos will be in the usual place in due course.
I am hennaing my hair today (I like to leave it on for about 8 hours) so am dressed accordingly and won't be venturing out unless I want to scare people. The aussie says I look like I should be in a Daft Punk video (I think that's a compliment):
Black v neck jumper (Gap)
Black highwaisted yoga pants (American Apparel)
A stylish hat fashioned from clingfilm (The Co Op):beer:0 -
So cold!
Outfit:
Grey jersey dress: asos
Black floral tights: primark
Thick grey cardi: primark
Slippers: next
Heating is ON
and I'm not venturing out until much later today, by which time I will also have added coat, gloves, scarf etc.
Coloured my hair red this morning. It's darker than I had hoped and a bit patchy as my natural hair colour is much darker in places.0 -
Got a t-shirt on under my shirt today (warm and no danger of my tattoos showing through the shirt).
I had to stop the car on the way to work to clear my screen as I thought the demisters were not working, but it turned out one of my passengers yesterday had turned the heating into the car rather than on the screen. Had to scrape the windows as well.
Today
White spread collar shirt, compass cufflinks
Bright blue plain tie
Red cashmere wool mix blazer
Dark navy chinos

Love those cufflinks!
And Alex - £150 in a charity shop?! The people who work there really know their labels don't they? Sadly!
I'm freezing today and attempted to dress nicely despite the ice but I was in such a hurry from not being able to get out of bed in the dark!

The cufflinks were about £3 from dealextreme, my favourite site for trash! The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

when did it become normal to charge £60 for a cardigan?! :S0 -
I don't know PF but it is! I've noticed that this year - Boots that I would have thought would be £60 are £90-100 and coats I'd have paid £50 for are more like £70-80-90! Same with tinned goods too though, and bread! *sigh* Oh and wine! When did it happen that the cheapest bottle of wine you could get was a fiver! I remember the days of getting s decentish bottle for £3.50ish!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

hmm. i rather liked that cardi, but not for that much - bring on the sales!0

I would NOT pay that much for that cardi, not in a million years. I might be mildly smug though cos I got one from Oxfam at the weekend which is, imo, much nicer
Overall I don't mind clothes getting more expensive because material production costs have shot up recently and I'd rather I paid more than the workers got paid less. Maybe we're starting to move away from the mindless consumption mindset that Primark seems to install in people? (I do shop in there btw, I just don't go mental and buy bags of stuff I will never wear)0 -
i do the mental "bags of stuff i never wear" - or at least i did..
but to be honest, yday's trip in there didn't end up with me seeing anything particularly exciting - i think i spent a total of £11 on a scarf and a few accessory bits..which is probably the least i've ever psent in there :S0
