Memory Card Mystery - can you work it out please ??

    Sorry, I'm as :confused: as you but I have never been a fan of Sony and their silly memory sticks!

    I just tried a google on 13:01 with error memory stick and there are lots of results. Looks like a very common error with various solutions.

    I think with some people it is caused by tarnished/dirty contacts so perhaps in your case with one camera it just so happens that the contacts on both camera and card have enough tarnish/dirt to cause the error.

    I guess it's a possibility.

    What I had to do was put the memory stick in my card reader....

    Format (quick option selected)

    Run an error check

    Format (quick option un-selected)

    Put in camera take a few photos then format using camera.

    Got back my double sided 512MB doing that

    Yes, I had a look in my manual at the solutions and in a google search and have tried them all (apart from taking the camera apart :eek: ).

    How do you do that in your card reader ? I only have only that plugs in via USB and trasnfers them, nothing on it but holes for the cards :confused:

    right click on the card> format..

    your card reader should show up as individual removable drives in My Computer. Just find out which one is for your card and then treat it like any hard drive.
