Selling house - Vandalism of for sale sign!

  • I was driving through a very affluent part of Cheshire a couple of years ago on the way to work at 4am. Pitch dark, saw nobody for miles, then a row of large detached houses, one of which had a for sale board up that was burning intensely and dripping molten plastic everywhere. Very surreal, spooky in fact. I locked the doors and didn't look back.

Apologies for a completely pointless post.

Oh sign said "too stuck up for estate".

Now, I wonder, what on earth can have prompted that graffito??? Surely can't have been that the OP is/was "too stuck up"... No, obviously not, no chance, aye, right...
  • lol if only! Like I said previously I thought I got on alright with the neighbours! Funny how the crap starts coming out of the wood work as you are trying to sell lol

I must admit to having a cheeky fantasy about going around all the local 'to let' signs and adding an 'i' in the middle. Juvenille I know, probably if I was 18 and had a few too many shandies I would do it. Still, the thought keeps me amused.
  • I would give it another go. Passing trade has not died out and there is word of mouth.

Whenever i'm thinking of buying, i always take long long walks around where I'd like to live, so definitely recommend having a board, as then if I see something I like I go on the internet.

Yeah thinking of just keeping it down, don't think many viewings are arranged from passing trade anymore with tinternet and all that ! Suppose was asking for trouble...

I would second that. Sign seems to invite vewings from nosey neighbours who have nothing better to do.

I'm afraid estate agents' signs seem irresistible after you've been at the pub

Tightly cling film the next one, so if they do it again you can just remove the cling film and put another layer on.
