Hi, I am not a very techie person so need a little help.
I have a pentax optio s12 digital camera with a sd sandisk 8gb memory card have had it for some time, worked perfectly fine up until yesterday. When i go to take a picture it is says memory card error, when the card is taken out, the camera works perfectly fine. Does this mean my memory card is up the swanny, and there is no way of retriveing my pictures at all.
Any help much appreciated

Did you buy the card on the high street or ebay?Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

Try and get photos off card with recuva - http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download
Once you have them off, if possible, try and format card.0 -
It is likely that some error has found its way unto the card. I second trying to recover the data via recuva, pandora type software (you will find other free software). Then reformat using the camera.0

Can you tell me how do I format? Not very clever with electrical gadgets.0
