Agree with most of what has been said. Additionally, ensure your quote includes a sample of the material to be used, then check it during the installation. Also, the cost will probably include scaffolding costs, probably around 40/50% of the total, so make sure any quote includes that as a separate item. (Otherwise it could be you are paying for scaffolding and the local cowboy works off a couple of ladders.)

The price seems good as long as it really is full replacement and not "cutting out the rotten wood". The surveyor as well as doing a measure for fitting also checks your soffits for the presence of asbestos.
