  • Thanks to me reading other peoples diarys (but not yet having the courage to post as I'm a little shy) I am now going to be taking advantage of Ebay's free listing and finally getting rid of the stuff we have been saying we are going to carboot for over a year :o.

Also good news, got more hours and more pay in 2nd job. I left to take a supervisors position elsewhere and the owner wanted me back - offered me around £1 more per hour and promotion :T so even though I get taxed more as job 2 - won't seem it as will prob put me onto the old wage but as if it was normal tax WIN :D (ps why can't my 1st job be like that??)

45 Items listed on Ebay :D lets hope they sell. Only spent about £10 between us today on fags and food for lunch and tonight - definite reduction on the usual we spend.

Have a bit of an expensive week next week as OH and I going for a meal Tue night (first time just the two of us for aaaages) and got a lunch on Wed as one of my friends going on maternity leave. Will have to cut spending elsewhere but as quitting fags on Monday I'm pretty sure it will break even.

Hi Kat, just reading your diary, will be subscribing!

I know it's not technically giving up but I bought an electronic cigarrette and it's sooooo cheap. The thing costs £20 for the main thing, charges by usb, the cartridges are £5.99 for 100 cigarettes worth!!! PM me if you want the link to get one. I have been using mine for ages. They are purely nicotine with none of the tar/tobacco/poisons. Might help you to give up too? I "forget" about it an often can go the whole day without using it. :)

    Good luck with everything

Thanks that's great. I do have one but forgot to buy refills and went back on the "normal" cigs :o. If the quitting cold turkey doesn't work I will resort to the refills but I hope the money saving will be incentive enough for it to work.

Thanks for subscribing do you have a diary too?

Pay day tomorrow :j also means shopping day. Gonna go through cupboards and fridge/freezer today so I only buy what I need, make a list and STICK TO IT. Will post how I do tomorrow.

Spend today has been under £20 which is not bad for a Sunday. Bought our last pack of cigs and once they're gone they're gone, can't wait to quit whereas before I dreaded it, just thinking of the money :D.

OH and I have set a budget of £50 for our night out Tue - I really want to underspend as anything left over will go in the debt pot. May cheat and just have a main course and buy pudding on the way home :rotfl:.

Thanks that's so nice of you BR. I am really hoping it will make my debts go down quickly. I have realised it's the small changes that make the difference so far and it's been quite easy so far (famous last words :rotfl:). I will be posting my no smoking progress so you can all keep me on the straight and narrow xx
