I use Asda bread flour all the time, tho i dont use a BM and i have never had any probs with it, dont forget environmental factors can affect your loaves.A penny saved is a penny earned.
The less you spend the more you have.0 -
Asorbic acid (vitamin c) does make the yeast do more. Another factor to how much the bread will rise is how strong the flour is (how much gluten is in it). Added asorbic acid or gluten to the flour can - up to a point - make the bread rise more.0

£1.29! Oh no, I was going to pop in there tomorrow to buy some as I've run out and need a couple of bags (and some soya milk) but I've only got just over £4 left for the week. That's an appalling rise - it was 52p last time I bought some a couple of weeks ago.0 -

, so the price of all wheat products will rise as old stocks are used up and the new price grain begins to come into the market place.
If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -
If any of you have a large freezer, I buy as much of the flour as possible (when it is cheaper) and then put it in the freezer as soon as I get home. I currently have Tesco, Asda and Allisons (wholemeal and Granary only). Good thing is it doesn't need defrosting!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0
