OMG that's awful Candy , I hope she's ok. Several years ago my nan fell out of bed in the early hours of the morning & broke her hip, but it was too dark so she couldn't see the numbers on the phone so had to lay there for 3 hours until it got light enough for her to see so she could call for help

    Thanks everyone :D

Have shut my suitcase now! Time to get on with the housework:
    • Make my kitchen sparkle
    • Clean bathroom
    • Laundry
    • Sort clothes/lunches for work
    • Sort stuff we have to return for refund
    • Order of the day scrolls
    • Cut ribbon into strips - random job that needs doing!
    • Got freebie toothpaste and mouthwash after my complaint letter - bought a mouthwash that was only half full!
    • Went for coffee yesterday at new cheap coffee shop - run by a trust, 'employing' unemployed people and trying to get them work experience :T
    Catch up with everyone soon.

Candy - hope your mum is ok :(

Oooh Katsu - I reeeaaallly want one of those granny trollies!

Unsavy with £ - my way might not actually be the best, but when I was struggling I found it helped to have a target to spend every day... So, damage limitation, I decided on aiming to spend £1 or £2. Found that was enough to get that 'buzz' but little enough not to feel guilty or end up splurging after a week of no spending... HTH.

Thanks for reminding me La e - Unsavvy with £ - I allow myself a charity shop trip or trip to poundland regularly so I get to do some spending at hopefully less of a dent on my wallet.

La e, when you get one, don't get the cheapest ones that fold up into a small bag/wallet as they fall apart too quickly - too flimsy without a metal back/handle. I found the handles tear off. I have one like this

Hello Everyone , long time no see...............oh my luck is unbelievable.

Had Just sorted out my return to work having been off sick to care for my dad who was terminally ill, when I became ill managed 2 half shifts in 2 weeks. GPs kept saying it was a grief reaction but agreed to do some tests. Am now waiting to see a surgeon to have my gall bladder removed and as it is so bad I won't even be able to have keyhole surgery :(. GP said I won't feel any better until it is out and the wait will be longer for open surgery unless I get choleycystitis or another attack of biliary colic ( have had 5 that they said were anxiety attacks ). I can't stay off work as I have been off so long I'm into half pay - and a single parent. Ohh dear . Supposed to be working a ten hour shift tommorow and no way I can do that so will be in managers office at 8am to negotiate how I work my hours.

Having said all that I'm having a good day today so hoping to get a fair bit done . My list :
    • Use up all free veg family gave me before they went on their jollies - parsnip soup simmering away.
    • Freeze milk as given loads - need to work out what to do with all the eggs
    • Do some cleaning and tidying- house has gone to pot :o
    • Put my cake buisness on hold - I can't reliably meet deadlines :(
    • Get my insurance details out so I can ring them tommorow, it pays out if i'm off sick longer than 6 months but excludes stress which they will say was the issue with my dad - worth a call though.
    • Sort out forms for healthplan and claim for DDs new glasses.
    • Have entered points on coke zone and claimed an eyepencil , have a nice little make - up set underway for DDs xmas
    • Enter some comps
    • Do some surveys
    • Pack items sold on Ebay - not listing again though for a while
    • Turned off heating - we have abused that just lately
    • Check banks - shuffle money and pay some bills - not looking forward to that :(
    • Think positively :o
Am really glad I started sorting my finances last year, things are tough at the moment and have had to put stuff on credit cards and reduce my debt repayments but I am still better off than I was last year. Hopefully things will pick up soon :o
