Anyone else in Scotland have trouble getting today's snowman? I have 2 local co-ops - one gave me tomorrow's toy and the other had no toys delivered at all!

I had no problems at my local Co-op, I try and go in the morning so there's a better chance of getting one. Last year I kept them for DS Xmas stocking and he loved it but this year my idiot DH has just been giving him them each day...

My local Co-op is a fifteen minute walk so not far, they seem to have the correct toy every day at my branch.

I'm sure you an get the odd thing they are giving away in proper Lego sets, like the Snowman and the Xmas tree which might be in the Lego advent calendar or Lego Xmas themed boxes. Nice to get freebies though if you already buy the paper each day anyway.
  • Anyone else having trouble getting theirs from their local WHSmiths?

I went in early this afternoon but had kids with me and couldn't see how I could get them without them knowing. I heard one of the staff offering a lego set to a chap buying the DM paper. He obviously didn't have a clue what she was talking about and declined. My mum was down the street and could only have been a couple minutes while I left them with her and went back with my vouchers. The member of staff said she was very sorry but they were out of stock.

So, i was either really unlucky or my local WHSmiths are reserving them for their own customers, later on in the day at least. I suspect the latter! Didn't have time to argue or, even bette,r to get my mum to go in and by the paper to test my theory. Will rather grudgingly have to get the paper and voucher from WHS tomorrow, such a shame the postal option is so expensive.

I tried two WHSmiths yesterday and today and both had signs up saying that they had none left. Really disappointed as had no problems the last two years, although not disappointed enough to pay the £8 odd for postage.

Went to our local one first thing this morning (it wasnt open yesterday) got todays and yesterdays but my OH did notice 3 little boys each with 3 vouchers each which might explain how these are going out of stock. Bless them for wanting that many and they were there first thing but probably should have a limit to one per customer but if you go back later with another voucher how would they police it anyway?

Picked today's lego up at the WHSmith in Manchester Piccadilly station around 8:45am, no hassle.

None today in My WH smiths and I was there at 3pm.

A shame as I wanted a set for my son's Christmas stocking (he's 22 BTW!)

:rotfl: that made me chuckle - we have a brother in law who is same age and willl not part with his lego despite our best efforts to get him to pass it on to our lego obsessed 5yr old DS
  • Im giving up trying to collect in store:(

I know postage is a bit much, but a snip at the cost of fuel if I keep having to try and hunt these down. My plan is to "acquire" the voucher from the newspaper at work to help save me pennies for a paper that I dont read - then postage doesnt seem that bad ;)
