Scanning Slides?

I have a large volume of slides I want the images from and am not sure if I can scan these with a normal scanner?

Can I do this; do I need an special tools or software.

Any advice gratefully accepted.

A normal scanner will not have a high enough resolution. Flat beds which can do films have special adaptors to do so,otherwise you will need to have a dedicated film scanner!

What model of scanner do you have??

I think you'll need a scanner with a 35mm slide adapter to do this. Did your scanner come with one? I use an Epson Perfection 4180 Photo and it has an adaptor to scan four slides at a time.
There are a few threads on this forum about scanning slides. Try a search with the word 'slides' on this forum. It brings up a few threads you may find useful.

i have got the epsom 2480Perfection it has adaptor for negitives works great for me if that helps!

I have a UMAX scanner Astra Slim SE
