UK Flooring Direct - anyone used these?

I'm planning to put new flooring on my ground floor. Haven't decided whether to use laminate/ engineered or wood floors yet.

Have asked for a quote for fitting from our carpenter so I guess I'll add this onto the total cost and work out a budget before deciding on how much I can spend per square metre.

Did a search online and came across the above company, looking through, the prices seem quite reasonable.. has anyone bought from them - are they ok? They have a review site and most seem to be favourable but with about 1.5% of customers having problems.

Any other companies you would recommend we take a look at?

had no problems, samples received within a couple of days came with a 10% discount off the order, ordered, received a phone call to book delivery and all turned up when due

Hi karins,

Am looking to order some more quick step laminate also after buying some locally, how recently did you place your order as 10% off sounds pretty good.
Am guessing the 10% code would be a generic one any chance you'd be willing to share the code?

Hi - we didn't go with them in the end. I've ordered some from homebase (when they had the 15% off deal). Haven't recieved them yet so hope it'll be ok. Good luck with your new floor.

Divingtesky - did you (or anyone else) order from this company in the end?

Our order fell through with homebase as the manufacturer was behind with their work so we cancelled as we had no idea when it would come.

Would be interested of any other recommendations of laminate/ wood flooring?

We were between ukflooringdirect and factory direct flooring. We have now bought the compact hazelnut twice from factory direct flooring (first for lounge and loved it so much put it in bedroom) and have had no problems. They seem to be quite competitive and the flooring we have looks much more expensive than it is.

We used UKflooringdirect in the summer and I had no problems at all with them. Goods arrived on time, in good condition, and priced well.

The only problem I had was that I ended up a foot short of the beading to go with my laminate, and when I rang them up to ask if they could cut a length of it down so that it could go in normal post, rather than a giant tube - they said no. I would have had to pay £15 postage for the £5 bit of scotia. So I'm still missing a bit!
