Liquidized Company owes me guarantee
I'm after some much needed advice.
I brought a battery at a total cost of £120 for my Mondeo just over a year ago.
It has been fine up until a few weeks ago, where it is not holding the correct charge.
Have been caught out twice so far, luckily I'm protected by breakdown cover, they have attended each time and have checked the charge out put from my car to the battery, it's fine and 100% spot on, however appears the battery is not holding the correct charge.
Today, my car turned over very slowly, and I managed to keep it turning just enough till it caught the engine.
HOWEVER, my problem is the fact today I attempt to go to the shop where I brought the battery and find a Notice on there door advising they have been placed in to liquidation and have ceased trading.
But no forwarding address of the liquidators has been left.
My battery was supposedly cover and guaranteed for 3 years, I still have the receipt for it to prove and confirm such.
Where do I now stand?
As it appears I now will need to get a new battery before winter kills it completely!

If the company is liquidated and gone then unless the battery manufacturer will honour it then you do not have your warranty.0

Thanks
I thought maybe they would have a clause for just this kind of case.
Looks like I'm out of pocket for the battery price
I should have used a Halfrauds instead of a local owned firm who have only a few branches about.
I will look into contacting t6he battery maker but hold out no hope of them honoring the warranty against it, as it was with the shop, no where on the battery does it state it's guaranteed for 3 years, just on my receipt.
Know of anywhere I can get a decent battery for a Mondeo without paying a arm and leg??0 -
TMS? Dont know if theres one in your area but for a 55 plate diesel mondeo 74ah it was around £75. Dont know if the V6 will be smaller ampage, but I doubt it's bigger.0

Whilst the recovery firm have checked your alternator is charging, have they checked that there's actually nothing draining current when the ignition is switched off?
Also if you only do short journeys, you'll never replace the energy used to start the car so will reach a point where it ends up being nearly flat.0 -
Did you pay by credit card or a Visa debit card? The man without a signature.0

No sadly, I paid by cash as I needed the battery urgently and didn't have my card on me at the time.
I do have the receipt, as I say, but this appears worthless now.0 -

I believe that is what they did, yes.
The guy put the battery under load and then did tests with a meter to see what the alternator was doing, and he said it was charging correctly.
He also turned the engine off and said that no current was being drawn.
I have just done a few checks online and it would appear the companies website is still up and running:
http://www.autoquip.uk.com
However, having did a search of the local stores near me, the one that has the notice on its door and is empty has been removed off 'my nearest store' by postcode and the other 5 that are meant to be local to me (within 25 miles) I know are no longer trading either.
I'm a little confused, are this company still trading or not?
And is there any way, if they are, I can obtain contact details for them?0 -

Thank you
I will have a look and see what I can find, I'm unsure of the battery ratings required as last time I just gave them my reg and they said I needed X Y and Z0 -

I was hoping maybe to find a Bosch battery as they seem good when I had one in the past, I know there pricey but worth the extra bit.
But will have a look at the cheapest battery for starters
