HTC Desire contacts and Facebook

I have only just got the phone so am still new to this.
Does anyone know how I can get rid of certain contacts from the 'phone' menu?
It has sync'ed with my facebook "friends" so I have shed loads of people/bars etc in my contacts that i dont want there.
I believe it is something to do with HTC Sense.
Is there a way to link Facebook to the contacts that i DO want so their profile pic shows etc etc without having to have all the ones I dont want in there?
I hope this makes sense to someone!!

I no longer have my Desire, but I belive that it's all or nothing with facebook sync, if you dont want people in your phone, then you need to remove them from facebook0
