Is there a room 'stat as well that needs turning up?
Make and model of boiler would help. Programmer?
What do you mean by 'water heater'-if you have a gas or oil CH system then your boiler should be heating the hot water.
Do you have a separate hot water tank (not a combi boiler)? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Answer the above then we may be able to help.0

I assume the OP means when the programmer is set to hot water.
Y plan?0 -
Not much to go on really but hazarding a guess at malfunctioning or wrongly set programmer, or sticking motor valve? No free lunch, and no free laptop

If an old system, could just be the pump stuck.
Don't know about you lot, but the fuse has blown on my crystal ball, so can't use it tonight!0 -
We may never know, as the OP has not reappeared and may I fear have frozen to death in the interim...No free lunch, and no free laptop

Whoah, jenny, the posters above are only trying to help, but you were not giving us all enough information to diagnose the problem, I actually don't see any sarcastic comments, so if you would like some help, lets try again.....There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

A call for "help" normally means urgent. If people post questions trying to help you and then have sit around waiting for an answer that doesn't come because you had other arrangements thats a waste of their time and is inconsiderate.
If you knew you were going out then a small note on your post to say so and that you'd answer questions when you returned would have been a more positive approach. Agree with Albyota - start again.
