Tesco Charging For Engaged Call?

I have recently signed up to Tesco's 30-day rolling sim-only plan.
Yesterday, I attempted to call a ticket hotline number for a london show (0871 number), but on the first dozen attempts, the number was engaged. Having a look at my bill, it has charged me 10p a pop for each of these. I have e-mailed them as to whether this is correct or not, but i have to wait upto 48 hours for a response, and im an impatient sort!!
I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced anything like this with Tesco, or another provider for that fact.
Cheers

This is standard practice. Once the engaged tone starts, your call has been connected and billing starts. The minimum billing amount is often 1 minute, so you'll have been charged for 1 minute every time you called.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Thanks very much to everyone who replied. Tesco did respond saying this was the case, but refunded the charges as a one-off goodwill gesture, so it's not all bad!
