PLAY.COM and their shoddy delivery service regarding Pre orders

  • I was interested to read that someone disagreed with me and said I was a troll for only posting two entries in a year, I did not realise there was a minimum? I have simply never been annoyed enough previously.

Regarding the Play.com not delivering prior to release date or they will be punished comments, interesting as nearly ALL other internet sellers stated they could get it to you by the release date (I went with play.com as they are a huge company and thought I would have no problem or if there was it would be resolved).

Some comments have stated that shopto and gameplay delivered early, surely if the pro play.com people are right these radical websites would not risk the wrath of the publishers nor would the publishers release to these wayward sites sufficiently early to allow this sort of chaos?

The fact of 3-5 days and blaming royal mail are, albeit pertinant, not the whole original tale. The customer service I received was poor which meant the whole dealing with play.com (order, late delivery and lack of customer care) incensed me to write on here as I could not anywhere on their site find an address to write to or email address to vent my spleen which incensed me further. (I now have been supplied one on this forum)

If you are purchasing goods and do not care about delivery time then they are great, but if you are after something, anything, for a specific date they should clearly indicate that it may not arrive for that date (not just hide behind the fact that somewhere on the site is their standard delivery policy and you should have read it).

But for anyone who has phoned up any company regarding an issue, just remember what it was like when the person on the other end of the phone just did not care at all.

shopto.net are the best IMO. They offer good value on pre-orders (they had the best pre-order price for Fifa 11) and offer free signed for delivery. If the games arrives after the release date then they refund you £3 on your next purchase as well.

But don't have a go at Play, they are very good and can't help if Royal Mail suck some days.

Shopto don't actually refund on preorders though!!
