Prague With The Girlfriend?

Ok, thinking of going to Prague with my Girlfriend for my birthday for 2 nights.

Been looking around for flights etc, but they comming up at around £150 retrn per person.

Just wondering what anyone else has spent on a trip to Prague including flights/hotels/food etc.

I would go Saturday 2nd December and come back Monday 4th December.

Any Help would be much appreciated.

I'll let you know, going to Prague with the gf this friday for 4 nights, got a nice deal at the hotel St. George (4 night for price of 3, works out £62 a night) and flights were £88 return each with easyjet. Total works out £422.

The tip i've been told/warned is don't take taxis.. they're unregulated and will rip off tourists

TAXIS WERE FINE FOR US JUST AGREE APRICE B4 U GET IN.
oops sorry for capitals we stayed in step hotel which was grand but a 15 tube journey out of city centre.

Just wondering what anyone else has spent on a trip to Prague including flights/hotels/food etc.

Have just come back and I think what you spend can vary enormously.
The restaurants close the center with prime spots will charge UK prices (which are very high in Czech terms).
If you are prepared to travel for 10 minutes to a restaurant then you will find much cheaper prices, so it really does depends on how money saving you want to be.

I can recommend an excellent Italian below the youth hotel (if you are near the train station).

Had an excellent pasta dish for just less then £3 and an excellent pizza for about £3.75. No connection.

OK Simon, one post says you're going to Manchester for your birthday and another says you're going to Prague!

Where are you looking to fly from?
Flight with Czech Airlines from LHR £160.50pp (incl tax)
Flight with BA from LHR £149.20pp (incl tax)
Flight with Easyjet from LHR £99.98 & 114.98pp (incl tax)

I flew there with Smart Wings but it looks like they've ditched the route!

Thomsonfly aslo fly from LTN but don't seem to have any flights on the Saturday... They do have a flight from Prague on Mon 4th for £11.49 (but EUR22.46 as a one way) or Tues is EUR2.16 for a one way.... even better!

Anyway, say you take the Stansted to Prague with Easyjet for £43.99pp (incl tax) and returned on Monday with Thomson for EUR22.46 (Approx £15.20), the total cost per person for your flights would be £59.19! :T

hi thanks for your reply. Yes I was thinking about manchester untill someone said i could prob go prague and spend a simular amount of money.

i would prob travel from east midlands, as i live in sheffield

£60 per person return is very good, but i checked for east midlands and much more expensive.

Found one way to prague from robin hood airport - doncaster at £24.. but return is like £45

Flying from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to Prague on 2 Dec, returning 4 Dec with BMIBaby is £121.33pp. Easyjet (same dates) £89.98pp

What's your budget? Might be a bit easier to help if we have an idea how much you want to spend...

Keep in mind, Prague is not as cheap as it used to be now that it's in the EU.

If you want to eat and drink on the cheap in Prague, avoid the obvious tourist trap type of bars/restaurants and seek out ones that are set back a bit from the main streets.

Also, for transit from airport to the city, check out the Cedaz van service.

I've been to Prague three times (and going again over Christmas) and each time have got my hotel via Priceline, paying around £60 per night for either the Marriott or Renaissance hotels. PM me if you want any guidance on using Priceline.
