    i wont miss the medical.
i have read everywhere that most people get rejected and even bbc have been looking into it as number of mps, doctors and specalist believe that atos healthcare arnt doing the assesment proper and not doing the form correct resulting in rejections and then appeals. they are saying that most of the appeals are now being granted esa

If you can, record the medical, using a mobile with a record facility, or a dictaphone. If you don't, you'll soon wish you did.

you would think the goverment would look at this

The government isn't interested in the fact that Atos routinely lie and draft up questionable reports.

If the results suit government agenda, then that's all that the government wants to hear.

Fit notes can be backdated, my doctor backdated one for me several months when I applied for ESA, and ESA backdated payments for 3 months (the max, the sicknote was backdated even longer).

However, they wont do it, unless they have evidence it applies (ie you had to have had the condition/symptoms back then, they are not going to just backdate it if you turn up for the first time and mention something, they have to have it on record that you did have the problem for the period they are backdating)

They cant be backdated since April April this year the DWP told my friend, we got back dated ones when my husband became ill last year because we thought he had a bug or something so he didnt go to the doctors, he collapsed and ended up in hospital and thats how we got his kidney failure diagnosed.

    le

The DWP are lying im afraid, as this only happened recently.

Mine was backdated way after april this year, it was only a couple of months ago or so they backdated it.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

  • Just to echo that they can be backdated, there is actually a space on the form for GP's to put the backdated date in. And ESA do accept backdated claims up to 3 months.
