You say that your only income is rental - are you looking for employment to help matters?
If you own the rental property then yes it's an absolute possibility that they will be slightly hungrier than usual about it... especially if it has enough equity in it to pay your debts :(
I know staying home would probably be a lovely ideal thing for most, but if you can and it makes even slight financial sense to then you need to look for a job... I had to return to work when little miss was about 8-9months - not ideal but frankly she loves it at the childminders... so much so that I think they have kind of adopted her as a 5th daughter now theirs are all nearly grown up LOL

Something to think about at least...

Just some thoughts on your comments:

Its good that you've got a surplus - thats a great start. :)

The important thing here is when you do the I/E you're right that you should not include irregular income (i.e. stuff from eBay).

If it is not regular or sustainable then do not include it.

However your eBay pocket money should also not be relied on for car repairs/emergencies etc.

You should have an emergency/contingency fund in your I/E sheet.

You should also budget for car maintenance/repairs in your I/E sheet. If you're not doing this you're not being realistic in your outgoings ;)

Regards the letters your creditors send you - remember that the reaction they are looking for is for you to call them. Don't give them that satisfaction. If you are on the phone in tears they know that they can bully you and intimidate you. Keep everything in writing and it is much more difficult.

Your creditors will know that you have a mortgage and own a property. They can search your credit file and the land registry.

Remember though that their threat-o-grams are standard template letters.

If you make payments that you can afford it is very unlikely that your creditors will take you to court. And even in the very unlikely event this happened there would be many many many more hoops they would have to jump through to successfully get a charging order on your house.

As others have mentioned, is it possible you can look at a P/T job or working from home to up your income?

If you can get your SOA published on here then experienced people on here will be able to give you some pointers on where you can save money.

Vanquis Bank (one of my creditors) rang me today and tried to talk me into a reduced intrest payment plan after telling them the problems I had with CCCS. Their outstanding balance is £1067 on a £750 credit limit card! Yes the difference is just charges!!!! I havent used the card for months since it was at about £700.
Anyways, they informed me that its 'their policy' not to freeze intrest or stop charges via the letter I send (the same letter that CCCS would have sent I presume) unless it comes from a debt agency like CCCS!

Is this true or are they just trying to talk me into a payment plan that still charges me intrest of a reduced rate??
I was told that I could do myself all what CCS would have done anyway.
    Now I am just confused.

i declined and said I am gonna send my letter anyway
Now I am scared they will put notes onto my account saying 'whatever you do dont offer to freeze intrest' or similar!

    Morning hun
I don't have any experience of Vanquis, but one of my creditors had the same attitude and the letters came from CCCS!
Write your letters, post them off with your I/E and token payment and DON'T SPEAK TO THEM ON THE PHONE. It may be worth sending the communicate in writing only letter at the same time as everything else (make sure it's securely attatched so they can't claim it got "lost"!). I'll find the template iin a minute.
Keep your chin up. You have a little boy who no doubt adores you and you are doing this for both of you!

Have you sent Vanquis a full Income and expenditure statement? They won't just freeze interest because you ask them you have to show how dire your straits are. If the letter comes from CCCS or Payplan or whoever creditors can take your requests more seriously but this doesn't mean you can't do it on your own.

You will still have to show proof of income and expenditure whichever way you go.

Post your SOA and lets see if what your options are.

I have been on a self managed DMP for 2 years, Vanquis stopped interest and have never contacted me since - just pay them monthly through internet banking. HTH :D

    ithanks all..

I want to pay through internet banking, thats how I pay most my stuff!

So I have printed off I/E and copied it in.
turns out cos theyre the least I owe to.. they only get £20.14 per month. Doesnt seem much that does it? I'll be paying it off forever!
Santander are the biggest and work out at £55 per month.
    Barclay card at £50ish
and Capital One at £30ish per month

I can only prove income by letter and bank statements showing money going in every month via cash pay ins.. cos its rent. I cannot prove it any other way. CCCS wernt happy with this initially. so withdrew their off to help.

And now I am here today stranded.

Now I am worrying who the hell I send these letters to? which depts?
Last time I sent a letter they didnt get them til internal mail had transferred them to another(corrcet) dept some 6 weeks later!

I dont wanna wait any longer just want to get this DMP Ball rolling now.
Is there a list anywhere on here that states the correct address for DMP's letters for each financial body?
I particuluarly need correct addresses for
    Santander
    Vanquis,
    Capital One,
    & Barclaycard Platinum Visa

Or shall I just call up? trouble is. I call.. I have to put in account details and who I am, verify, then I get bombarded with make a payment make a payment your charges are risning make a payment in a foriegn voice. Then I end up getting into a debate.. and you all say DONT CALL THEM. lol

So is there a list or anyways I can find the correct address without speaking to anybody and being roped into conversation about my appalling account state?!
