You are entitled to benefits, albeit not all benefits, but more than enough. Again, the information is in my first post on this thread.
£65 per week is more than enough ?? for a pregnant woman !
to pay rent, bills and buy essentials for my baby !! surely not, i would have been safer getting pregnant at 15 and got all the benefits going, thats obviously the message this shambles of a government is sending out !!
i wont get the £500 sure start maternity grant that non workers get ! you obviously dont work and are getting every benefit under the sun or are in a ridiculously high paid job !!0 -

as i stated in my OP i dont get income related ESA and on all the government sites i have been on, it clearly states that i am NOT entitled to travel costs to and from hospital ! or sure start grant !0 -
with regards to the community care grant of 500 quid. you can claim this.
after the baby is born you have 3 months to claim it. when you claim child benefit and also child tax credit you will be entitled
we were in the same position when are daughter was born in may and we couldnt claim before but after she was born we could.
im not sure on the 190 quid but as im aware of it we did claim for it and recived it when we first could.0 -
also as you have diabetes type 1 you will get free prescriptions no matter what income you are onBefore you go off on some ill informed rant, you might want to check your facts. You will be entitled to help with your rent based on your low income. You may receive help with health costs through the NHS Low Income Scheme (also known as the HC1 form).
Is your sickness pregnancy related? If so, hopefully you will not need to have to rely on disability benefits once baby is born?0 -

OP,
When is the due date?
I presume this is your first child?
Do you have more than £16,000 in savings?
Are you living with a partner who works full time?
When you applied for the ESA did you have to tell them how much money you had in your bank accounts?
Dunno who this guy was that told you that but have you tried phoning your ESA BDC (telphone number at the top of your ESA letters 0845...) Ask them if you have qualified for income based ESA........if not....Why not? I think you will find you are on ESA IB & Conts (simultaneously) and you are therefore entitled to get the surestart grant, assuming you remain on ib benefits until 11 weeks before dd.
You can get Housing Benefit in any event based on your low income, assuming you don't live with someone who is working F/T.
Have you had your ESA medical yet? pass or fail?0 -
