Hi, I would appreciate your help with this question.
Someone wants to sell me his used iPad. He said he bought it from Comet and still have the original receipt as proof. Apparently he also has the warranty with 11 months on it.
Is it ok to buy?
Thank you.

Hi, I just mean if it is safe to buy this way.0

Do you think it may have been stolen?
Other than that make sure it works properly. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
he says it has the receipt so doubt its been stolen? How much are you being asked to pay?Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

Hi, I still wait for his reply. I don't know if it works out.

I'll check if it works properly and whether he has the receipt.0 -
The seller now told me that he doesn't have the receipt anymore. But he has the warranty.
If he only has the warranty, does it mean the iPad is legitimate enough?0 -
It will have an iStore account registered - ask him to demonstrate he can install an app (you need to log in even for the free ones) if he can't then I'd be inclined to give it a miss. You'll need to find out how to alter the iStore account to your own too. Unless you are making a substantial saving I personally wouldn't bother anyway even with all the documentation.0

Hi, regarding "how to alter the iStore account to your own", it seems easy enough, if I understand correctly from the Apple site:
"Simply sign int o the iTunes Store directly from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using your existing account, or create a new iTunes Store account. Tap Settings > Store > Sign In or Create New Account."
I already registered with iTunes via my iPod Touch, so I suppose it won't be a problem for me to log in.0 -
I wouldn't bother buying second hand. You can get new ones from the Chemist for less than 50p. Also, you'll find two or three in any good first aid kit.
Hope this helps0
