    Thanks.
In fairness to the delivery guy (and I DO want to be fair), the bin was empty apart from 3 cardboard insides from toilet rolls and of course he would have seen that before he put the parcel in there.

Well in our case i don't think he checked it as he put it on top of all our rubbish  so at least you were lucky there...

You could always when making the complaint just start on the positive saying you've always been happy with them etc and then put across your objections, that's what i tend to do it there has been a positive that is! :rotfl:

I'd really appreciate your view on whether I'm wrong to be a 'bit miffed' about my delivery being put in a dustbin.

I had another delivery this morning and I definitely heard the guy in the van knocking at the front door, so I'm totally convinced that the delivery guy yesterday didn't knock at all.

I'm thinking of dropping an email to RM just to explain what happened and ask them to have a word with their drivers not to put stuff in dustbins - what do you think?

hte problem is it very much depends on the local management style
in my old DO from hell
staff were told a few weeks ago that staff will be subject ot conduct code if they doorstep, sign for items etc outwith an official RM safeplace instruction
managers know it happens and are quite happy for it to happen
but will conduct any postie if an official complaint is made
hence why i never ever doorstepped etc
much to the annoyance of many recipients
of course not all offices are run the same(perhaps the root cause of many complaints!)
however heres the other side http://www.northlondon-today.co.uk/News.cfm?id=35693&headline=Sorting%20office%20staff%20given%20counselling%20as%20three%20of%20their%20colleagues%20die%20in%20suspected%20suicides
i would find it hard to believe work isnt a contributing factor in this
