White Van Man Scam - another one

This scam is still happening, my parents handed over £120 for a 'Memory Dreams' mattress, bed and head board. The sticker on the mattress says RRP £899, the man knocked at their door and started at £400. The bed looks prettty cheap on close inspection and the mattress is fine until you lie on it. i would say the lot is worth less than £100. It is a well organised scam they print stickers which they attach to the mattress and they even have a dodgy website, 'memorydreams .co.uk' . i have since heard of a number of other people in Cornwall falling for the same scam and handing over more cash. Does anyone know if it is an on going case or does it need reporting?0

Very clever have a website with products showing a massive RRP and then sell them really cheap. Wonder why no one else has ever thought of this??Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0

The website doesn't actually sell anything though, Pinkypants. There's just a few pretty photographs and not much else: no contact address or phone number, no prices and the address on the Domain Registration has been faked complete with a non existent post code.

Everyone should report it to trading standards each time they come across these scammers. The more people who report it, the more resources will be put into stopping them.0 -

Isn't there a way to report the site to nominet?0 -

if the website shows the inflated prices, think how well they would so if they got a sale!
The website is just to gain their victims confidence. It would be easier to track them down if they actually sold through the site.0 -
