Perhaps MSE could set up a similar database but more oriented towards consumer interests using their new structure and funding?

I hired a heating engineer to service my boiler. I found out afterwards that he was on CheckATrade. He did not even take the cover off the boiler, so I asked around and several HEs said he should have taken the cover off to check if some inner bits needed a clean. I checked with Worcester Bosch, and they said the same. He has glowing reviews on CAT. :rotfl:As the boiler is one year old, I'll leave it till next year, but make sure it is properly serviced then.

I had a Woodburner installed costing me £2600 which i have not yet paid for:T From the start of the job it was a complete mess, hearth in 2 bits,unleavel,and uneavenly cut, the burnner was placed in the wrong place and on a slope, the flue does not have a 45 degree bend, and the chimney is to short. Plus other bits like skirting board not removed, all in all it was a really bad job done by Jose Rodriguez of Mere in Wiltshire, I removed him from the job and got another firm in to rectify and they told me that they have condemed it and i was not to use it. I am now waiting for the HSE to come round and see how bad it is.
I went on check a trade to check out this RODRIGUEZ and it was all good reviews so we decided to have him.:mad: what a mistake, i have been on Check a trade to put a review (ALL BAD) and nothing comes up. WHAT A BLAGG, Check a Trade needs to be checked out themselves and closed down. ALL the people who have had this same problem should write to watch dog letting them know because all the cowboy builders are on there hiding, maybe that site has been created by the king of cowboy builders. DONT USE CHECK A TRADE, VERY BAD

May I suggest that you make a complaint to Trading Standards and the Advertising Standards Authority, given that they claims themselves to be "The answer to the UK rogue trader problem" or whatever the exact words used.

I made the complaint to Trading Standards, HSE, Hetas,building control and trickortrade as i call it, JOSE RODRIGUEZ is going to be very unhappy when the HSE comes to see his mess he made this friday, plus i sent a big long letter to watchdog about checkatrade rubbish, in time the penny will drop, i will put a complaint to Advertising Standards Authority right now, thanks for that. Everybody should write to watchdog about it.

He came out to give you a diagnosis didn't he? If you had asked him to come for a quote for a boiler replacement it might have been free. But you told him it was a boiler repair. Do you think that people are here to serve you? For nothing? That they get trained, open up a buisiness, advertise, pay rates, rent and transport costs, so they can drive to your home at a time convenient to you, to diagnose the fault on your boiler, that you are not able to do yourself - for nothing?

You are a very stupid, selfish person.
