Applied to Nat West for the 2.85% e-saver account, and I am a little confused.
The online assistant said I do not need to open a Nat West current account to operate this saving account, I can use my current bank...Barclays online.
I have read through their T&C, and it states that you can make initial deposit, and subsequent deposits through a Nat West Account....okay though I got that.
Telephone the customer service team who say you dont, but when I read the 'text' in their T&C, she simply said oh!.
Can someone tell me....do I need to open a NW current account, or can I just to a bank transfer from barclays online to nat west e-saver.
Thank you

Straight from their web site:
No need for an existing NatWest account– although if you have one, it's quick and easy to move money between e-Savings and your other NatWest accounts0 -
The website and Ts&Cs differ (or did when I last looked). The Ts&Cs indicate(d) that it is only possible to make transfers from outside NatWest by regular standing order. I have a written response to my complaint about this confirming that the website is correct and the Ts&Cs wrong.
This and many other issues have already been discussed at length in this thread.

Apparently, you don't need a Nat West current account. To transfer money to your e-savings account, you can transfer money via your Barclays current account.
I contacted Nat West to discover how to transfer money FROM my Nat West account, back TO my Barclays account. I was told that I should request a card reader; I then pointed out that I didn't have a card as I don't have any other Nat West account. They then gave me a phone number to ring (0800 200 400).
On ringing this number and speaking to an adviser, I was told to request a card reader and, on receipt of the card reader, ring them back and they will be able to provide me with a card, specifically for the e-savings account. I should then be able to set up my Barclays current account as a payee.0 -
Thank you, alanq and loughton monkey for your help. Have taken your advice and read through the links

Thank you Rob, will contact Nat West to continue application. Crazy really as a customer, we know more about the product than they do0

Once you have registered for online banking it is possible to request a card & reader online. And once you have received them there is an activation process for the reader which must be done before it can be used.0
