Sky Contract ended

Hi All
My sky contract has ended and have to admit I didn't realise how much we took it for granted, the pause button while make a quick cuppa, the programmes we recorded, its all gone but I am a little richer per month for it though.
My question is can I get anything that lets me have those lovely things I have missed without paying a subscription?
Can't get freeview channels in any of the bedrooms (Tried freeview box years ago, hence going to sky) so my youngest has sky box still connected to get free channels, my eldest never had the luxury, and we still have it connected downstairs.
I am not technical at all so has anyone got any simple ideas please?
Also now my contract has ended, can I unplug the phone line to both sky boxes? Phone is with talk talk.
Thanks

You can pay Sky £10/month to keep the recording functions active on the box.
The other option is to ditch the Sky box all together and go the Freesat route. You'll get a box that has all the same functions as your Sky box. There is the initial outlay which is around £200 for a Freesat+ box, but then there is no further costs.
It would be a straight swap with your Sky box and it would also give you the free HD channels assuming you have an HD ready TV to watch them on.Dave. :wave:0
