:T Looking forward to three weeks time Madam Stripes! :T

Lovely (and fairly low budget) day yesterday up at the Raptor Foundation in Cambridgeshire - at only £5.50 admission it is a fabulous day out for very little cost - they had to cancel the third of the days flying displays yesterday as the weather was getting more and more windy which gives the birds problems but the two we saw were pretty good, and we had a nice chat with one of the falconers too which was interesting. We took our lunch with us, and paid £10 of the admission using a Days Out Voucher from Clubcard.

Today has been a shopping and gardening day - did 99p Stores this morning - spent £5.94. Sainsbury's - £6.68 and got a £2 off £20 spend till-spit, which I then took to Tesco (as you would!) where the spend was £21.54 - loads and loads of fruit and veg, a big box of Bold washing powder and some storecupboard bits. Final stop was The Range as we needed bird food - also got some seeds (Pippi I blame you for this seed-buying obsession!) and some bargain seed potatoes - 20p a pack! Got three different varieties and have already planted some of each so fingers crossed!

So - what's occurring? Quick financial update first I think....

Credit card bill from holiday spendy stuff came in - but thanks to having used the card only for a couple of food shops, and the diesel, it was nicely manageable, and I had to transfer relatively little from the holiday account to cover my shortfall in money last month which was :T Now I need to see if I can keep this months looking similarly frugal as well! I suspect not as Mr EH will have some "proper" travel costs on there this time as he'll be buying a monthly railcard, and his car will need filling up several times too as we're off next week on our camping jaunt down to Cornwall.
Bank Account is squeaky, but ends are meeting, just. Transferred odds and ends over to the VSP account this morning so will need to have another look at the bank as the odds and ends being transferred might leave us just a smidge short. If so a few more £'s can be transferred from the holiday account as I was expecting to have to raid that in any case.
Grocery budget: In spite of me not actually keeping up my spreadsheet this month it seems to be ticking along OK. I'll be using the ClubCard+ for some of the food shopping down in Cornwall, but because of being away for a few days our food spending next week will be lower of course. it won't actually *balance* but will help, and there is a tesco right in Camborne so ideal for bread, milk etc. We have a new nifty little camping toaster which I am positively itching to try out! :D
Pet Insurance: Have shopped about a bit, including using comparison sites - and it seems that, rather like our home insurance, More Th>n are still cheapest so will stay with them for now, but I will probably give them a call to see if I can chase it down a little.

    And in other stuff:
    Financial:
I have requested more territory from my Avon Sales Manager.
I have recanvassed my exisiting area - not heard from anyone wanting to start getting a book yet, but you never know!
Been doing OK on the Survey sites although OnePoll has gone on a complete go-slow today! I'm determined with that one though it's "get to £40, cash in, and leave!" - it's just TOO slow!

    Household:
Next tray of salad leaves is sown, as are a load of seed spuds we got cheap to add to our Pink Fir Apple ones that are already doing superbly. Admittedly we have nicked a small area of communal space for the purpose, but it looks better with stuff growing in it than just bare earth so nobody's likely to complain!

    Health/Personal:
Walking is going well this week, and a group of us on MG's Matrix thread are determined to eat more healthily and hopefully lose some lb's as we go - there's nothing like having others on the same path to encourage and motivate. As I've said over there I don't "do" scales, but my first aim is to see if I can drop a dress size by the first week of August when MrEH and I will be working at the beer festival. I reckon it's doable.
Off the back of that, the aim to eat more healthily and actually think about what I'm eating is going well. I bought enough salad last weekend that I've been eating it a bit at a time all through the week. The same with fruit - I notice that Tesco still have their 2 for £2.50 offer on - so long as the Braeburn apples are british again I shall get a bag of those and a Canteloupe Melon again this week - yum! AND British strawbs at £1.99 - got to love that!
Toiletries - just toothpaste bought - and I needed that! In the spirit of the challenge though I did manage to get 2 tubes of Signal whitening for 99p in the 99p shop!
Bloggity Blog was updated at the weekend, and will be again today...

    Fun Stuff:
Loving this bit! :D The 2 £10 Days out vouchers due to expire at the end of this month have gone - one was used last saturday for our day out and Mum and Dad have used the other today and will swap for one of their longer dated ones. We'll now use the June expiry ones in cornwall. A bit of extra planning has gone on to so the fun stuff list now looks like this:
    1. [STRIKE]March : Trip to Chester for Friend's birthday[/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]April : HOLIBOBS![/STRIKE]
    3. [STRIKE]May: Meal at "Smiths of Smithfield" Courtesy of lovely friends![/STRIKE] (it was fabulous!)
    4. May: Camping trip to Cornwall!
    5. June: a half day hawk-flying experience courtesy of my Mum and Dad for mine/OH's birthdays! Will combine with camping trip (MrEH now knows about this and is very enthusiastic!)
    6. June: A Girly road-trip with two pals following the Ipswich Witches on their Northern Tour - a three day trip taking in S!!!!horpe, Berwick & Glasgow (and hopefully incorporating an overnight stop in EDINBURGH - PALEMA TAKE NOTE! :D Hays, LW & I will be on the loose!) This is going to be done well and truly on the cheap though!
    7. June: British Speedway GP in Cardiff
    8. July: Possibly another beer festival - this time at Bishops Castle in the Welsh Marches, and again involving a tent and a group of mates!
    9. July: North Norfolk Railway Beer Festival (getting a group of friends together for this as well)
    10. August: Great British Beer Festival - YAY!
    11. August: Eastbourne Airshow
    12. September: North Norfolk Railway 1940's weekend

Phew! What a cheery list of stuff to look forward to! :j

We're on and off the Poppy Line quite a bit through the summer usually LT - it's such a lovely line, and the campsite we stay on is just a few minutes walk from Weybourne Station so it's a convenient way of getting back to there from Sheringham too! :D
