  • Why is your Type 1 diabetes not controlled?

Why are you blacking out from it all the time?

You're going to die very soon if you keep that up. Get some medical help.
  • You've got it all wrong, sites like this exist BECAUSE PEOPLE CARE, the advice you have been given was BECAUSE PEOPLE CARE
people are getting upset at you purposefully destroying yourself BECAUSE THEY CARE

Ever heard the phrase "Life is tough....so am I"? Why hit the self destruct button just to prove a point?!? We know life is unfair, but you're not going to get anywhere like that. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD. I just can't get my head around your way of thinking. Sorry. Something my gran used to tell me (usually when dying my hair a shocking shade of purple/red cos "everyone" did) "if everyone decided to jump off a bridge would you"?

Surely you would have made a better point by using your knowledge and exposing this loophole by AVOIDING IT.....and stamping out this "unfairness" by advising others how to do the same?!? IF no one gets into the trouble you're in....the problem goes away!

I'm sorry but either you need help - counselling, or a serious shake by a loved one but what you're doing is not good for you or the people you care about. Either that or you're beyond help, in which case your contributions are a bit.....well "TROLL-ISH"

    Hi and thanks

You really do sound a lovely person. There are not that many around.
I don't want to sound rude or uncaring, but there is very little anyone can now do for me and the circumstances I now find myself in.
I would like to apologise if I have upset anybody, that was never the intention. Yes I feel guilty if I have and more so if people still want to help.

No, I'm not a 'troll' or whatever that is, I was just an ordinary guy that had an ordinary life with quite an ordinary family. Someone that you probably wouldn't have noticed when you passed by.

I do sincerely thank you for your obvious caring thoughts

Because probably I don't report it to my GP! They work on the premise that if no one contacts them - everything is rosy in the garden.

Two reasons so I am told. One because my blood levels go too low - below 1 or too high - beyond 40.
And because of the lack of blood flow from my spleen due to the thrombosis is causing me to have very low blood pressure.

Maybe, but it'll probably not be for those reasons.

. The simple truth is that my sole objective was to create such a massive problem that no one could solve it.

You're wrong. You'll only get sectioned if you're a danger to yourself or others.

I'm fully conversant with the requirements.

I would never intentionally hurt anybody, but if I sat down and told my GP how I am feeling and what I have been doing since I refused to see anybody anymore from the local Mental Day Unit in 2004, he would say that I'm NOT a danger to myself?

    Dear MSE Towers,

I personally think it's time that this thread was locked. As you can see Andy requires medical and financial help, medical being a priority! I personally don't think continuing with this thread will do him any favours whatsoever, I fear it will do more danger than help.

    Kind Regards

You really do sound a lovely person. There are not that many around.YES there are, There are LOADS OF LOVELY PEOPLE but you're never going to meet them while you're in your self destruct world - who wants to meet a pessimist who is determined that they're beyond help.
I don't want to sound rude or uncaring, but there is very little anyone can now do for me and the circumstances I now find myself in. There is NEVER....NOTHING you can do......there's always an answer-it might not be the one you like, or the easiest option but there is ALWAYS an answer and a choice.
I would like to apologise if I have upset anybody, that was never the intention. Yes I feel guilty if I have and more so if people still want to help.We want to help, so stop feeling guilty and do something about it. Its far more of an impact to show how you've pulled yourself through a disaster than to just say its all gone wrong.

No, I'm not a 'troll' or whatever that is, I was just an ordinary guy that had an ordinary life with quite an ordinary family. A TROLL is someone who deliberately posts things on a forum to argue with/upset people. And what's wrong with ordinary.....I like ordinary, i'm ordinary. There are plenty of people in this world who would give their right arm to be classed as normal/ordinary or boring.

I do sincerely thank you for your obvious caring thoughts
PROVE IT - SHOW ME. Get out of your hole and fight back. C'mon, be an inspiration, be the exception to the rule....be the one that got OUT OF that mess, not the one who got in a mess and....oh that was it.

My dad had type 2 uncontrolled diabetes until recently...his blood levels were constantly pushing 26-30 and never lower than 15. He had constant numbness and pain in both his legs and his fingers, he was tired and faint all the time and suffering terrible night sweats and dizzy spells. Then with a decent amount of nagging from us (his 3 daughters) and company to the doctors, regular proper meals and the diabetes uk helpline he's now all medicated, eating regularly and feeling (and looking) 100% better than he was. You're only as strong as the support you have holding you up, reach out and grab some....it wont (usually) come looking for you.

My gran had veins in her oesophagus that kept bursting and making her vomit blood, her liver was failing and her abdomen kept filling up with fluid that had to be drained in hospital every 4 weeks (about 6 litres a time). With her family and a decent consultant behind her we pushed for her to have a "shunt" operation (she was almost 80 and "too old" for a liver transplant-despite the fact that she'd never been in hospital in her life up until this point). She managed another 4 years in good health until she passed away when her liver eventually failed but without us all pushing for this operation and her fab surgeon - she would never have made it that far.

YOU ONLY GET ONE LIFE, LIVE IT.

My cousin at 15 got leukaemia, a champion gymnast ...but she battled it - never giving up. She carried on throughout the illness taking her GCSES and a part time job, learning to drive, going on holiday to disney, having a boyfriend, then when it came back she went through the entire thing AGAIN, another marrow transplant and lung damage and she went into teaching children acrobatic gymnastics. She died 2 years ago aged 23 after a 3rd relapse - battling and winning against leukaemia 3 times. Her marrow transplant had worked, but her lungs were too damaged from all the chemo and she got a chest infection and died while recovering in hospital. BUT she NEVER, EVER EVER gave up. Imagine being told at 15 you're going to die.

IF they can do it....you can, so get off your backside and out of your little self-pity hole and do something about it. COME ON!!!

Sorry - but you need a bit of a kick into action and if you refuse to let anyone else do it i'm sending a virtual bootmark your way.

I know why you're blacking out, that part was rhetorical. I've been T1 myself for twenty years.

The point is, T1 diabetes needs to be controlled with insulin.

If you don't seek medical help very soon, you will die.

You are now adding more to the mix and are trying to make out that you are this martyr - you have done everything you have just to prove that you can and you are seeking attention and some sort of importance ... or some kind of wanted man. Don't make out that you have intentionally messed up to prove a point and in the process let your own family suffer.

I think you want to be centre of attention, a martyr, someone seeking sympathy .... you really do need help. I URGE YOU TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP - ESPECIALLY FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH. I DO BELIEVE YOU SHOULD AT THIS POINT PHONE THE SAMARITANS - I'm not messing about, I think your state of mind really needs attention.

I'm not drinking nor am I drunk, in fact I am quite sober thank you!

Nasty - no! Just trying to understand what is the right way of doing things. Then I do the opposite!

Yes I like that comment - 'Disaster Movie'! And I'm the lead character.
YES, YOU REALLY DO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE THE CENTRE OF ATTENTION!

You definitely need help - your mental health, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. You really need to help yourself ... I can't understand that your family haven't dragged you down to the surgery or even called the doctor out!

You can always get help however helpless things seem. You owe it to yourself and your family - are you so selfish that your family mean so little to you!

You describe your own family as ordinary - I would say extraordinary to have gone through everything with you and still stuck by you!

GP's have thousands of patients and are not psychic. They depend on their patients to be honest with them and to seek their help when needed. It is a relationship - a doctor patient relationship! Unless a doctor is made aware that you are unwell how can they treat you?!

Alcohol and drug (morphine) abuse most probably is a big factor!
