I just assumed chelbel meant it wasn't a traditional wedding cake and no it wasn't but it certainly reflected the fun day. Always good to get feedbackNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

I assume you are saying - it isn't particularly a wedding cake which is a stupid thing to say, when it quite obviously is someone's wedding cake.
Why was it obvious it was someones wedding cake??? People have these sorts of cakes for anniversaries, birthdays etc.
The point is that wedding cakes are individual and someone took a lot of time and effort to make it.
Perhaps you meant it wouldn't be your choice which is fair enough, but you just sounded rude!
Did I say it was nice!!! Erm yes I think I did so how was that rude!!!
So I'm rude and say stupid things because I state my opinion, ok then :heart2: 'Tied the Knot' Saturday 9th October 2010 :heart2::blushing: Member of Diet Club October 2010 Brides and Grooms :blushing:Starting Weight: 14 stone 10.8lbsCurrent Weight: 13 stone 2lbsTotal loss: 21.8lbs :j0 -

I did mean it wasn't a 'traditional' wedding cake, there was no need for the other poster to slate me for it
I'm glad they had a fun filled day, did it taste good because it sure looks it, I can't even taste mine cos the hotel but the whole thing in the bin

DO NOT FEED THE TROLL LADIESI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
as if you know anything about me:rotfl:
its a forum to give opinions if i think its good i will say it is.
Too many ppl on here scared to give a bad opinion. Too many ppl also wrapped up in their wedding day with little regard to what it means to get married...
I'm sorry you feel like this about the posts. My daughter and her husband have taken their marriage/wedding very seriously and just because they had a fun day with all family and friends it doesn't mean they don't understand the sacredness of that day.
Ofcourse you have a right to say what you think but don't be so defensive when others return it back to you.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
Can't... resist....... Must feed troll.....
Because I really wanted to say that yes, it is your opinion, yes the internet is anonymous, yes sometimes you think that people should know a true and honest opinion....
But really, there are many other forums where people's honest opinions are wanted - but this forum has always been a nice place. No one ever had to worry about a snide comment before and it became a safe haven.
Most of the time brides don't want someone to tell them their idea isn't anything other than perfect and wonderful.
Perhaps if someone says "What are your honest opinions on this" you might politely find a way to let them know that their idea could be viewed as tacky
But when someone asks for help on a topic, or wants to show off a dress, or a cake, or have a bridezilla moan - I really don't think it's necessary to pop up and be "honest" when actually you're not being honest, you're just randomly offending people. And 90% of the time it is completely unwarranted.
That's what makes people call you a troll - not because you are one of the few amazing people in the world daring to tell brides that their wedding ideas aren't the most fabulous ever. But because no one ever asks for your opinion when you decide to give it anyway, and it hurts.I love surprises!0 -

If I could - I would absolutely without a doubt have that cake at my wedding if it tasted as good as it looks.
I love it!!!!!
I will console myself with the thought that it tasted 'orribleI love surprises!0 -
That looks gorgeous!
I'd prefer a cake like that to the 'traditional' wedding cake any day!
