May I just remind you that HE is the one who lied and cheated to get it all his own way? You can't take responsibility for his lack of maturity. If there is no present from him just tell her it is because he has no money because he's not working. She will draw her own conclusions as to what kind of father she's got. I'm with Tenmah - don't be derogatory about him, but don't give him a gloss he doesn't deserve so when she has the maturity to fully understand what type of man he is there is no unnecessary pain.

I am pretty sure they don't think she is putting it on, because they know her condition - she has a chronic pain condition and chronic fatigue syndrome -but he seems to ring a lot and I am sure he is just being kind but it is a bit annoying, particularly when he wakes her up!!

Buy the boots and say it is from him by all means if it helps you but you must think of B and yourself first I'm afraid.

That's good in one way - maybe you could suggest that you will ring in a couple of days to update them rather than wait until the end of the week. Does she do a job that they need to get cover for and therefore knowing in advance when she is likely to return is advantageous for them. Perhaps you could politely tell him that the phone wakes her. Been for a walk - lovely out there - and bought myself some hair dye (well, free with Boots points). As well as being all stressed I really need a hair cut and to sort my roots out! I have a lovely spotty face to go with it too.. sigh!
