You can also request a cashpoint only card from Barclays on their cashcard account.

Yorkshire Building Society Cash Transactor account would work, and you could open an internet saver which also gives an ATM card.

Another option is to cut up your existing debit card and open a savings account with whatever bank your with and transfer your day to day funds into it, leaving enough for Direct Debits etc in the current/basic account.

Bear in mind that this situation might easily get worse (eg. ultimately taking on debt to feed your habit).

You are sensible enough to recognise that you have a problem, and denying yourself easy access to your hard-earned money by getting rid of your debit card is an excellent first step.

But don't stop there - take a leap forward and do yourself a big favour by getting some help.
