I'd emailed them first to find out how much they cost and how much the (excessive) p&p amounted to. Despite the ripoff charge for putting them in an oversized, over weight box they still work out cheaper than Holland and Barretts half price offer so it's worth the aggro. Just wish they could get their act together and have decent secure online website which you could order from directly.

What about HealthyDirect - is there a problem with them these days? I know I used them last time, and don't have a problem with swallowing lots of little tablets!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Holland and Barrett still have their Vitamin d for £1.49 x 100 so around £5.36 for the same quantity/quality as Healthy Direct. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

From the vitamin D Council website at vitamindcouncil.org. Google it - I'm too new to post links.
"Supplement With Cholecalciferol
The important thing to know: cholecalciferol is the vitamin D to take. Do not let your doctor give you any prescription medication for vitamin D. The only exception to this is ergocalciferol. Although with ergocalciferol you must remember you are taking a drug—not a vitamin—that does not normally occur in the human body."
The ZipVit variant is ergocalciferol.
I have used ZipVit intermittently for a few years and have no reason to doubt their quality; although, of course, for the layperson it is very hard to know what is good and what isn't unless it actually kills us...0 -
I've also used them for a couple of years, following earlier recommendations on this site, and have found them prompt and efficient to do business with.
I've been buying Cod Liver Oil and Glucosamine with Chronditin from them, but following recent reports that the Glucosamine/Chronditine doesn't actually impkrove joint/cartilege problems, I'm going to cut it out for a while and see if I notice any difference/deterioration.
There are lots of different levels of doses available, so check you're not needing a bigger daily dose than you actually need. I'm sure that for most people on a mixed healthy diet, there's probably little need for additional supplements.0
