SCAMMED ON EBAY!! help!!

Hi guys I need your help, the situation that I have found myself in is as follows:
I sold a mobile on eBay worth £180 (because I needed the money im a student), the buyer paid me via paypal straight away and the next day I promptly posted the mobile abroad, I took out extra insurance since it was a high value item. The buyer had relatively good feedback.
After I had sent the mobile I got I email from paypal informing me that I shouldn’t send the mobile to the customer because they were investigating the transaction, to cut a long story short the scum bag that paid me had used someone else’s paypal account. Paypal have since reversed the transaction (I am out of pocket!!) and I have sent the mobile to the address that was in the paypal invoice (which I have since discovered is not verified!!), so therefore because I shipped to an unconfirmed address I am not covered by paypals seller protection. This has left me out of pocket to the tune of £185 +PP.
Can some one tell me were I stand with regards to this? And also if I have anyway of being able to recoup my losses?
Also if someone can tell me what the royal mail insurance actually covers me for/against?
I am really p’ed of because paypal I feel has ripped me off!!
Your feedback is most welcome!!
Cheers
PS: stay away from international buyers!! I will never touch them again with the longest bargepole in the world, and if this helps anyone else atleast something will come out of a bad situation.

call paypal and tell tehm that if they are telling you that someboyd has used another persons account, that is called fraud, and they will have to inform the police, and the police will sort out your money.... if they say this is not the case, they are backtracking and they are being the scam merchants like they are.....Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

I really don't think there is anything that you can do in order to reclaim your loss.
Royal Mail no longer offer compensation for mobile phones that are sent abroad.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

paypal should still cover this, after all, it was using their merchant system, and the seller did not know untill it was too late..... but we all know paypal will not bother as they dont want to damage their profits.razorbladekisses wrote:I really don't think there is anything that you can do in order to reclaim your loss.

As far as I'm aware protecting yourself from a fraudulent transaction is pretty impossible to do.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

exactly i've said the same is some posts last week, when people wake up and realise that paypal is no safer than a chq or bank transfer. if someone wants to rip you off then they can do with or without paypal. Its a crap company that help nobody but themselves. I havent used it for a year plus now, and at the start people wouldnt pay me but i think the ebay community in general certainly is now. there are enough horror stories out there about it.
i feel sorry for the OP especially being a studnt an all, and trust me i do know how you feel. i would report it to the old bill but even in this day an age i 'm sorry to say it but they probably wont be much help either.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
As much as I sympathize with the OPs situation I still believe that paying for eBay items via PayPal is definately the safest method of payment.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

What if you unknowingly receive a Paypal payment - and instantly transfer/withdraw it into your bank account BEFORE you get a message from Paypal?
Can they take the money out of your bank account without your permission (now that its not sitting in the Paypal account)?0 -
