I have a raspberry, can I check Comet prices with that?
    Probably not. ;)

But you could go into Comet and use their display computers to google pricerunner.

Sounds very MSE to me... :D

Quite true, and in an ideal world this will keep retailers on their toes. That said a high street store does not have the overheads of an internet store so they should strive to compete on a customer service basis rather than a price basis too so the customer can weigh up whether paying a little extra in the high street outweighs the cheaper online costs.

Of course apps like the one I mention above are more useful for those spur of the moment purchases (a little difficult to bar code scan a washer in comet I find lol). I personally will always sit and research a product both in price and reviews before I buy, customer service will always factor into my decision as well.

I recall going into PC world once for a printer only to find the online price was much much cheaper than the instore price and they refused to match it. I stood in store, ordered online to the store and collected it half an hour later. Cheeky? Probably but it saved me £30 :D

Comet and other stores must love me... I only ever go there of a weekend to try out stuff before I buy it cheaper online.
