Went to comet at weekend to buy a cooker.
Saw this and rather liked it (£699)
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/335193/CANNON-KENDAL-C60EKK
Then googled whilst I was in the shop (much to annoyance of salesman) and saw this
http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/pl/101-663797/Cookers/Cannon-C60EKK-Black-Compare-Prices
Nearly £250 cheaper!!!
Be very careful what you buy and always take your blackberry with you!

I remember when I was looking for a dishwasher recently and saw one I liked in the Comet store - I asked if they would price match to an online source to which they said 'no' so I just walked out. I bought it online for £100 less than what Comet would have charged AND with a 2 year extended guarantee (compared to Comet's standard 12 month one). It pays to shop around!0

What for? Are you going to do Apple and Blackberry crumble on it?0 -
there are a few iphone apps as well which allow you to scan the barcodes of products and find them cheaper for you

Posh lot... I've never seen internet on a phone ... nor have I ever seen a blackberry. And £250 saving .... I'd be wanting to spend that on a cooker tops!
If everybody did what you did though, there'd be no Comet to go and look at/touch the products. Then they can all put their prices up again.0 -
Similar thing happened to me, but not in Comet.
I was shopping in Debeers, looking at a nice Clea three diamond necklace and when I asked the advisor if they would price matched Graff jewellers.
She asked the manager and I am sure I heard them tut before telling me that they would only price match Goldsmiths.
I then went to Graff jewellers and they would not accept part payment in clubcard points! I remember asking if Asprey would throw in an ostrich skin handbag if i purchased their jeans to which they said no!0 -
Why single out Comet...please do your research before leaving home and save the price of a Blackberry/iphone!0

What's the phone got to do with it? People don't have smartphones just to check online prices you know. If someone wants to spend £300 of their hard earned money on a phone or 3 tonnes of elephant dung I fail to see how that is anyone elses business or relevant to this thread.
Op was merely reminding people to do their homework and check prices before they buy. Nothing at all wrong with that.0 -
