Can you keep your maidan name on your passport?

    and yes she can have what ever name she likes on her passport - maiden or married.

    Funnily enough the technical answer is actually no according to the passport website- it says your passport must be in your legal name (see link below).

    But info in that link says "You should think carefully about whether to change the name on your passport before the ceremony or wait until you have returned from a foreign trip."

    So you clearly can travel on a passport in your maiden name, as it suggests you could wait until you return from a foreign trip after the wedding ceremony.

    Yes, I have my passport in my maiden name but everything else in my married name. The registrar advised me to take a copy of my marriage certificate with me at all times-in my nightmares, I can imagine being in a foreign country and not being able to explain why my bank cards are in a different name!!!


    haha that happened to me !! i went to buy my mum a big item that she really needed and chose to pay by card... they would not accept my card as they say my passport said i was someone else !!.. it took a long time to show them who i was !
