Looks like a £250pm cap with a minimum deposit of £25pm.

On maturity it becomes an instant access Easy Saver account paying 1.6% (including bonus) in today's money.

It's been a relatively lean period for regular savings, so it's good to see a high street name doing something a little bit more exciting!

Wish they'd do a £500 a month limit on it, but you can't have everything, can you? And who oh why do you have to have a current account with them?

How do I apply?

To open a Monthly Saver Account you need to have a Lloyds TSB current account.
It’s easy to open , just call 0845 3 000 000, or visit your local branch.
Worth mingling with their 4% current account perhaps.

That is quick! But seems their call centre quick busy at the moment....the customer advisor was so talkative!! I thought the call would never end! It only took 15 mins anyway. Done! Thanks OP.

Only just finished the last one back in August so a welcome addition to open up.

Remember to maximise interest gain, open and deposit the first £250 on the last business day of the month and follow up with another £250 on the first business day of the following month and thereafter.

    Thanks.
Don't know why they didn't allow online application, they didn't even try to sell me anything on the phone.
Just asked me a lot of stuff they should already know

Just opened it right now! Thanks!

I did have to explain why I didn't want their credit card, life insurance, value-added accounts, etc, but the lady was polite and not pushy when I said no.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.
  • I managed to open one, took a few minutes to do it over the phone, as nzseries1 mentioned credit card and other accounts were offered, but did not want any, the person who spoke to me was very polite and not pushy.

they did mention that the account should appear in my online account within 24 hours and I should be able to amend the payment or date once its visible if I need to
    Cheers

Spent about 20 minutes on the phone before being put through to the Savings team for the application. Wonder why they don't allow the Monthly Saver to be opened online unlike a lot of their other savings accounts.

Still not visible online but expect it to be within 24 hours. As previous post suggests, you can amend the Standing Order date once it's online but the first deposit has to be within 30 days of account opening.
