It's not as though the dog can let itself out to the garden in a house anyway!
My parents' border collies let themselves out into the garden, via a dog-flap....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Thanks guys
There are plenty of dogs that live in flats AND if you read what I have said previously I said if it was a flat I would want to be near a park so I can walk the dog there and play with the dog there. Also as I previously said I would prefer a house - to have a garden for the dog to go in but I am aware with money and such, a house MIGHT be out of reach.
Looking into the Swanley area, pretty nice and quick commute but train fares are more then where I am now, also its confusing coz it says some tickets have "not for High Speed Service" on them but not which ones and what constitutes a high speed service.0 -

Looks like it's the high speed service to St Pancras. I'd be surprised if it stopped at swanley station anyway.

I would think there would be a regular service, too, on that line for conventional ticket holders but check. From a quick glance, it looks like there are two slow direct trains an hour and two with a change, taking around 55 minutes to st pancras, am a bit baffled as to why the journey time is almost double compared to London victoria.
The timetables on the southern website. There are also trains to Blackfriars/city thameslink, too.

Swanley is a dive. The ASDA dominated concrete shopping centre is one of the most depressing places in Kent. They would be better off saving £30,000 more and looking one or two stops further out at Farningham Road or Longfield. Higham has similar prices and a railway station. Even Gravesend would be better than Swanley.Been away for a while.0

I was looking at Gravesend first, seemed a really good idea but trains seemd a bit expensive for season tickets.
Trains to Victoria are ok as I work near there so don't need to go to St Pancreas unless I am taking a trip to Leeds.
What are the best places in Kent coz I think Kent is looking a good bet for houses.0 -
Do they still do the early bird season tickets from Gravesend? I remember an ex saving a lot on fares (but I did used to get dragged out the door at some godforsaken time).

Once again there is a coach alternative in Gravesend:

Although slower than the train you get
a comfy seat and it doesn't stink of urine. I know a few people who prefer coaches to trains. Your best bet long term is to find work in the county.
Other sub £200,000 places with travel links we looked at included Lenham, Harrietsham, Maidstone, Staplehurst, Marden (a bit rough in places), Sittingbourne, Newington, Teynham, and Faversham. They all have things for and against them, and no doubt others would mention places like Rainham or Teynham that I have deliberately omitted.Been away for a while.0 -
Hi have you considered?0

No haven't thought of that one though I have been there.
I just don't know about my gf's job at mo becasue it is London really but then agin she always talks about doing other things but the work she gets is in London so able to get a late train or tube I guess would be needed but I know areas near tubes are expensive but she is liking Kent.
I'll make a list of all these places you guys suggest (already looking into them) and I guess work my way through them.0 -
