Getting free calls between networks
Okay guys some advice please.
My girlfriend and I are currently living quite far apart and we like to be able to call each other everyday but need some kinda deal to sort this. We have been using landline calls, but this isn't always the best solution and currently her phone is not working.
She is stuck on a vodafone contract, however after speaking to her, she doesn't mind buying a cheap second phone on PAYG that we can use for this soul purpose.
I am not currently on a contract and also i'm looking to change phones so that gives some flexibility.
Somethings I have found and am currently aware off: Vodafone sim only online £15 a month, free vodafone to vodafone calls, do quite like this as can call my gf's current phone, however i'm looking at buying a nice fancy phone that would require data, and none of the data plans offer free voda calls.
Giffgaff - like the prices etc, understand they change monthly, but offer free calls between network, only problem is £10 topup required every three months, not sure if that would mean both of us would have to top up or if i could use this as my main phone and she could just buy an unlocked PAYG phone, drop in the sim and then i could call her.
Any ideas?

I'm with O2 and the free minutes included in my allowance are to all UK mobiles (not just O2). I also have the unlimited O2 to O2 calls bolt on for free (you usually get one free bolt-on).0

See the £7.50 T-Mobile thread.
You could select the free booster of unlimited T-Mobile calls, if you were both on that you'd have free calls to each other plus all the rest.
That's if the offer is still on...0 -
What phones do you each have? Skype might be an option. I also believe Skype even works on 3 without top ups, so maybe you could look at that?0

I am looking for a new phone and she has a samsung s7070 on vodafone.
I noticed on the vodafone site, vodafone family, where one of us would pay £5 a month and then we would BOTH get free calls between each other, thinking this is a good option at the moment, looking at trying to find a good voda sim only deal and then buying a phone or something.0 -

There are various network SIM card permutations possible. Depends what else you might be looking for.
You could get a T-mobile SIM for £6/month with 100 mins and texts in addition to unlimited t-mobile calls, and a PAYG T-mob SIM for your girlfriend.
£6/month SIM for you: http://www.chitter-chatter.co.uk/sim_only_plan.php
A 40p PAYG phone when you pay for the £10 top-up
