Variable Digital & Analogue Coverage in Central

We are due to switchover to Digital in March 2011 (Nottingham area). We have had digital for sometime but can only get a handful of stations with good reception all the time (Sky News, Sky 3, Dave and Price-Drop.tv), others are intermittent, and ITV, Channel 4 and Five are non-existent. We rely on Analogue to watch BBC1 & 2, ITV, Channel 4 and Five. However, for the past week, some of the analogue stations have had a very poor signal and are unwatchable. We also get intermittent banners on the top of the analogue screen advising on the digital switchover.
1. Are they now trying to discourage us from watching analogue by screwing up the signal?
2. If so, why haven't we got access to the digital equivalent, especially as the digital signal is excellent for Sky News etc.?

1) No attempt to discourage, there is atmospheric interference causing problems in several areas (check out the forums at digital spy http://www.digitalspy.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13 )
Once the analogue signal is switched off the digital signal can be increased in power.
If you are getting your signal from the Nottingham transmitter then on Wednesday 31st August 2011--Freeview power increases from 40 W to 400 W, 10 times stronger.
Without getting too technical, the channels on Freeview are broadcast in 6 different groups, sounds like you getting the group below ok but not the rest.
11 Sky3, 19 Dave, 25 Dave ja vu, 29 E4+1, 37 price-drop tv, 44 Sky 3+1, 82 Sky News, 108 Sky Text, 723 talkSPORT, 725 Premier Christian Radio, 727 Absolute Radio,
You can check the groups (Mux) for Nottingham out here and enter your postcode to check on your transmitter.
