Granite worktop of 2.8m - do I need a join

Just an update....
Yes, they said that it was because of the width of the granite worktops and the cut outs (and likelihood of breaking). But they should have talked to me about it before templating....
As pointed out, the sinks will partially cover the joints. The joints should look a lot better once cleaned up and, if necessary, they will top up the filler.
The granite guys were putting in the kitchen worktop - which is looking great...
Thanks again

I'd like to see some pics of the finished worktop, if you could please.

Good news all round, they sound like a decent set up and what I can see of the images of the sink cut outs the machining is neat and tidy.
Do post pictures of the finished article.
Did you go with Stargate (Cosmos) in the kitchen or choose another colour?0 -

Yes, I think (hope!) that they are a good set-up (both the granite and the kitchen/bathroom suppliers... they ought to be for the cost  ).
No, I went for "Emerald Black" in the end - had a number of large samples and it worked best with the maple units, the seashell limestone floor, stainless steel appliances and the Barley White walls (a nice dark contrast, but with quite a lot of interest, to the "sunniness" of the rest of the room). They templated the glass splashbacks today, but forgot to bring the samples... so I need to choose that over the next couple of days (I expect it to be an "off white", probably slightly greenish). Will post some photos when complete, but it will be a couple of weeks before they can install the splashbacks.

Pictures of finished bathroom (although they still need to grout around the mirror). I am really pleased with it:0

I bet you can hardly see the joins behind those sinks now.
Looks good.0 -
Looks very nice indeed. Yes - can you see the join except under very close inspection?
