    <<<dirty mare here

I wear my jeans till they can stand up on their own before they get washed:D
I have skirts that have never been washed:eek:
And I have jumpers and leggings and cardies and everything else that see more then one wear before washing

    But to clarify

Jeans worn for an hour in the mornings to walk the dog - then taken off till next day

Clothes changed into then will be worn about the house only

Change again if going into town ( small town so dont step out the door without glamming up) and they will be hung up and worn again

Change again for work - and thats clean every shift

Basically I can change up to four times in a day, None of the clothes stay on me long enough to get dirty. Sure tees only see the wearing off once as does underwear, but the rest blast with the steam iron usually freshens enough

No way do I have time to be washing and ironing that amount of changes in a day
  • Skirts & trousers at least 2 or 3 wearings unless they're obviously mucky (like if I've spilt something on them) or smelly (if it's been really hot). They get hung up on the outside of the wardrobe to air a bit in between wearings.

Jackets and cardies the same rules but usually last quite a few more wearings.

Tops, undies and tights/socks clean every day.

I have 3 pairs of work trousers that get rotated throughout the week that get taken off as soon as I get in and washed at weekends Tops only get 1 wear, cardies get worn several times until they smell like they need a wash. I've got a few knitted dresses that I wear a vest top under so only need washing every few wears. Leggins one wear, jeans 2-3 wears. Underwear obviously only the one wear. Comfies 3-4 wears, unless I spill my dinner on them:D

I must be the only one that will wear the same top two days running then! (if its clean). I work twice a week and wash those clothes each time as I have to kneel down on a dirty supermarket floor (my own clothes, not uniform). My casual clothes, worn most of the time I am happy to wear twice before washing, underwear is clean on every day. I dont have loads of clothes so I wash and wear what I have.

I won't wear anything "out" that's had contact with my feet underarms or groin more than once, so bra's tights. socks knickers, leggings, tight trousers and jeans and fitted tops are once time only propositions.

My dressing gown, night shirt, fleeces, hoodys, round the house cardigans and that kind of stuff get worn more than once before washing.

I apply similar logic to washable clothes as dry cleanable. Undies every day - that's a given for most posters I think. If it's OK to wear a dry clean jacket for 3 months then why do others need washing so often? I only wash cardigans, skirts, winter dresses and heavy jumpers when I've either marked them or I think they need freshening because I've been somewhere grubby or sticky. Admittedly I might only wear them once a week or less in the meantime but it could be a couple of months before I wash a dark coloured cardi. Summer clothes and tops I wash after one (or maybe two) wears. Jeans and trousers maybe 3 wears.

I think I'm the same as a few people on here.

Socks, underpants, tights, vests and t-shirts get worn once then washed, since they've been next to my skin all day. I do occassionally re-wear a t-shirt if I only had it on for an hour or two, but never two days in a row.

Jeans, trousers, skirts, hoodies and cardigans get worn a few times before washing, depending on if they have stains on them etc. Cardigans and hoodies I don't wash as often as they don't get sweaty...being over t-shirts/jumpers so they only get washed when stained.

Jumpers I will wear a couple of times if I've had a t-shirt or vest under them, if they're next to skin they get worn once.

Coats and big things like that, mainly when they're stained, or to freshen up if they've been packed away, say a winter coat I have had in the wardrobe unworn since last year.

  • I cycle my work outfit so it looks like i change every day... but don't, I wash it after two wears. i.e i've got three outfits per week.

I wear my jeans god knows how many times before they go in the wash. unless my casual stuff smells it still goes on!

Should have said that if I'm not working the next day, I'll wear the same top two days in a row.

So this week, I had clean shirt on Sunday which I wore again on Monday because I wasn't at work on Sunday so it was seen by a different group of people, clean shirt Tuesday, clean again today, tomorrow I'll re-wear either today's or Tuesday's because I'm not working, and Friday I'll wear whichever I didn't wear on Thursday. Then I'll wear the same one both Saturday and Sunday, and so on ...

BTW, do you all have work and non-work undies? I'm a fan of Big Knickers, and I have a few silk pairs which I only wear at weekends / non working days, with cotton Sloggis the rest of the time. Sadly the silk ones are beginning to wear out and they don't last as long as Sloggis so I'm debating whether to reinvest.

I wear a uniform for work and always have a clean tunic every day - cant understand some people at work wearing them for a couple of days *shudder* trousers are changed every 3-4 days unless they're visibly dirty, I also have designated work shoes that I leave in my locker and dont wear out of work. (Infection control)
Outside of work, trousers are worn for 2-3 days unless visibly dirty, but clean top, clean knix and clean socks each day. I do wear my bras for a couple of days as well unless they smell (which they dont usually!!!) Jumpers/hoodies/some of my rugby shirts get washed less often, usually after about three or four wears or if I've got something on them. (Im a mucky pup so it happens quite often :rotfl:) PJ's usually again last about 3-4 days. I have a LOT of clothes so Im lucky in the sense of I usually have a good choice. OH however disgusts me sometimes :D He changes his socks and undies every other day  and his jeans tend to be standing up on their own before he changes them (3 months is about average - I kid you not) He thinks I'm weird cos I change my undies and socks every day (and sometimes twice a day!)
