Cancelling Virgin Sim Only Contract?

Does anyone know how to cancel this online, the Virgin sim only deal was a rolling one month contract at £10,however my online account states now it is a 12 month contract,how can that be?This is for my son who has spotted a phone on a 24 month contract with Virgin at a tariff of £8.50 and simply wanted to end his existing contract before getting the new phone
