Then get hold of a pair of binoculars and look at the dish to see if it has a quad LNB.
If your existing digibox has only one feed connected then you cannot be using all the Sky+ functions on it., i.e. you can't record one channel while viewing another, you can only record what you are watching Are you sure it's not a shotgun cable (twin feed) with 2 F connectors on the end of it?

difficult to see from the ground s its against the chimmney and the pitch of the roof obscures the LNB

The link did not open fully - had half a screen

I can confirm that I can watch 1 channel whilst recording another on my Sky+ box

Then you can't have a single feed...you must have 2 'F' connectors plugged into the Sky+ box.
If the install was done in the last 6 years or so, then the odds are that you have a quad LNB.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Twin cable or not, it must still terminate in 2 'F' connectors to get all the Sky+ functions.

Fine, so all you need is the additional feed to your new TV's Freesat tuner (or to your complimentary Freesat box)-assuming that you have a spare connector on the LNB, which is likely to be a quad.

  • I have contacted LG and lodged my complaint I cannot receive BBCi player
They told me that an HD box would be sent in due course

Assuming it isnt a recorder like the Sky+, could it be connected up so that the Sky+ box records the HD programs or would it need to be a Sky HD box for that
