I think it's trial and error with your baby depending on their body shape and the frequency and consistancy of their poo's!
For example someone said Pampers were excellent, but I never had any luck with them on mine and found they leaked often.
I liked Tesco Essentials (turquiose packet) and Huggies Super Dry best. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I have just started using boots ecomony brand with my 11 week old son have not had any leeks so far.
But with my eldest i found tesco worked rly well too.
did try tesco with my youngest but did have a few leaks think sometimes its different body shapes work with different babies.0 -
I generally use Pampers, and buying them when on offer and using the multiple money-of coupons I get sent I very rarely pay more than 10p a nappy, which is the same as most own brands. I've used the Pampers Simply Dry too (thanks to a glitch) and found them fine, although I know a lot of people don't like them.
I agree with the poster who said Sainsbury's own brand are stiff.
I've found Boots own brand fine, as my Mum sometimes buys those for my LO.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Hi There,
i have 3 children age 11, 4 and 2 and a 4th baby on the way. I have used huggies and pampers before, but then i discovered the Asdas George Nappies were fantastic. And so much cheaper, u can get 3 packets of nappies in various sizes for £10.And ive never had probels with nappy rash with any of them. Just regular changing of the baby, and using barrier cream now and again.
Ive never turned back, and i will def be using them on my new baby when he or she finally comes. Hope to help2021 Please Be A Better Year0 -
i also forgot to mention earlier have u got any friends with a baby in the same size nappy? when trailing different nappies i had a friend who would buy 1 pack with to trail so if we did find they were no good we only had half a pack each too use up.
also once we found a brand that worked i would give friends a few nappies to try so they could se if they were any good without having to buy a whole pack.0 -
Pampers active fit are awesome and well worth the money IMO. They seem to permanently be on two jumbo packs for £13.50 at sainsburys which is not really any more than own brand. Aldi nappies are good and I have used them sucessfully for over a year before I went to pampers after getting a free pack to try. If you are short of money the best option is to have expensive night time nappies and cheap value day nappies as you will be changing more regularly. How old is your baby? If it is size one or two nappies then just buy pampers as you get about a million in a pack because they are so small and yellow poo can be murder to get out of clothes. Once you get to size 3 you can run a two nappy system. The main cause of normal nappy rash is urine and poo being in contact with the skin therefore if you change regularly and immediately pounce on any poos nappy brand will not matter and you shouldn't need any type of cream.0

I tried the Aldi ones but TBH I didn't like the gel stuff that was in the nappy to absorb the wet stuff.
My favourites are Natural Baby (white packet) and whilst they aren't cheap they are lovely and "allegedly" a better disposable (although I am sure that is a bit of an contradiction). I like Sainsbury's Eco ones too. I've also used their own brand nappies and Tesco's Baby Essentials. Not had any problems with these.
I loathe Pampers. They smell horrible. Huggies I found not much better.
With regards to nappy rash - well aside from regular changing there isn't a miracle nappy that will stop it. Use common sense - I found most baby wipes too harsh for newborn skin so cotton wool and water was better for wiping dirty bottoms. As they get older then I found most sensitive wipes will do the job but if you have a child who does a lot of number 2's using wipes may add to the soreness. Lots of air to the bottom (nappy off time) and just plain bath water helped mine. When there is a bit of soreness then Bepanthen worked fine.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I used Sainsbury's own for both of mine (and will do for the next) as they do a prem size and all of my babies have been pretty small. I then switched onto Tesco's own brand and they were excellent - even when they started to sleep through and the nappies were full, they never leaked. Mine never really suffered with nappy rash though. I also never used wipes on them for the first couple months, and never used all the powders and creams either. If they did get any soreness, then I find the best remedy to be some Zinc and Castor oil cream. Bonus is that it is cheap as chips and doesn't take forever to wipe off like sudocrem does.:heart2::heart2:On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur :heart2::heart2:we're debt freeeeeeeeeeeee....FREEEEDOM!!! :j:T0
