Hi All,
Which own brand disposable supermarket nappies have others found to be best quality...In terms of preventing nappy rash as well as just general use.
I know pampers are leaders in the field, but I read an article by Martin which says some of the big names actually make nappies for the supermarkets..

I tried Sainsburys own and I found I used more as needed changing so much more and they were really stiff and didn't look comfy at all! I tried Asda own once too and the tabs kept ripping but could have been just an odd pack. Costco own are pretty good but I stick to Pampas and get them when on offer. Also you can get vouchers by joining their online club.0

I've started to use Tesco own brand which I have found to be just as good as huggies.Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0

I've started buying Aldi's own nappies. There called Mamia and tbh i've actually found them better than pampers, and quite a lot cheaper too! Not sure as to what theyre like at preventing nappy rash as we havn't had this problem yet.Started Slimming World 5/7/11 Weight loss so far 1 stone 11lbs :T

I can second Aldi! :T
Only nappies that have ever made DD sore are Morrisons own and the Pampers Simply Dry.:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0 -
I'mnot really sure about nappies, but my DD had bad nappy rash as a newborn and two creams worked amazingly well:
Morhulin - just ask for it at the pharmacy counter and they will order it in for you the next day, not normally to be found on the shelves. Amazing stuff.
Metanium - you will find on the shelves of most chemists and supermarkets. Very effective.
I found the usual creams such as bepanthen and sudocrem to be absolute carp!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
Pampers - didn't find the absorbancy very good
Huggies: leaked when ds1 did a number 2
Morrisons - not very absorbant
Tesco - Very good on both counts
I used tesco nappies after trial and errors runs with the rest fo them 5 years ago when ds1 was a baby. 5 years later I am using tesco nappies again for ds2, although we did try morrisons nappies and didn't find them very good.
On the occasion that either of them have had a touch of nappy rash, bepanthan has done the trick.0 -
I've tried many brands over the years (3 kids) and have found nothing as good as pampers.
For the sake of 5p or so per nappy, it's really not worth the hassle of shopping around if you end up with wet sheets or a leaky nappy in return."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Lidl's were good, but I didn't try them on a newborn he was probably about 6-7months when I switched
Different ones work better on different shaped babies - huggies for example were useless on one of mine but fine for the other two0 -
If i dont get Huggies on offer then I go for Teco's own they are brill, DD has exzema/Psoriasis, and these have been great in absorbancy so it does ot aggrivate it.0

I use lidl nappies now and used pampers for my first. Neither of my 2 have ever had nappy rash, I think this is because I changed their nappies every 2 hours as newborns and NEVER used any cream or soapy stuff on their bodies. Just plain water and as they both have dry skin a spot of oilatum in the bathwater. HTH
