How do I get the CSA to look into Ex's CTC and WTC?

Its a valid point if it was me in that situation, I would have to get tax credits reassessed every 6 months when XH does a job hop. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

My ex keeps stopping payments, and lies that his job has ended, and Im placing my bets on him quitting his job soon... if my CTCs were cut to allow for maintenance, Id be even more screwed than I currently am!0

what people are forgetting is that the PWC recieves CB, TC and possibly a whole other lot of benefits because they are a PWC.
so exactly how fair is it that the nrpp has to lose money for her children (even if not bio from NRP) to give to their partners ex???
ask yourself this. how many of you PWC out there would be willing to give up your money to give to your partners ex??
i'll tell ya. NONE OF YOU. what's good for the goose is good for the gander. stick the shoe on the other foot and you'd all be on here 24/7 screwing about it to anyone who would listen to you.NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.
and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.0 -
It is CTC for my child this is given to my DH ex wife for his children. Luckily we only receive the basic £42 per month but CSA stupidly put it down as £42 per week. DH has 3 children so they took 25% (less 20% for children in our household), which amounted to around £35pm, so we were left with £7pm of our CTC, and refused to recalculate when advised of their mistake. Apparantley they do not do a recalculation unless the difference is over £10pw. Took over two years, until one of the children stopped being an eligible child, before they would do a new calculation. But I still think at least WTC should be included!! It's the incompetence of the CSA as a whole that needs to change.0

Income Support and JSA used to only let you claim £10 a wk in CM, I think, but now they allow you to claim it all. I dont think its fair as you could be getting hundreds a week in CM and still claim IS/JSA. But that was only £10 plus, not a reduction of benefits.
For example, if a mother was working part time, and claiming CTC and WTC to see her through, and was meant to be getting £50 a wk from the NRP, and he stopped paying, as they can easily do, or left his job, etc, and her CTC was regulary deducted by an amount similar to her CM, she would suddenly be a whole lot worse off.
This month Ive struggled to pay my rent due to his non payments, and had to cut down elsewhere, add to this my car needed tax, so I now have no car as I couldnt afford to tax it. Now I live in the sticks, and havent left the house in a good couple of weeks, as you cannot walk anywhere, its all too far, luckily my kids get a school bus. So no, I dont think the PWC should have their TC reduced due to CM, especially if shes a working mum. ( I can see the point when on full benefits, but like the old system, not a cut of benefits)0 -
Also my ex works seasonally, part time in winter, full time in summer, so that would really balls up tax credits, its hard enough for CSA to get their heads around, even though this is the third winter since theyve been involved.0

It's why (although hard) it's really not ideal to use child maintenance for essentials. An NRP could lose their job any time and would stop paying maintenance, through no fault of their own. If you had still been together, it could have still happened. Yes, it's galling when they're doing it on purpose, but sometimes it's for genuine reasons and why it's better to not include maintenance into your bills and class it as an extra.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61
