Just a quick question here, I have an iphone with unlimited wifi.
but my friend is looking to get the iphone 4 on orange and it says 3GB of wifi, does that include when he accesses his router at home that will come off that 3GB? I didnt know they could limit you on wifi when its your router anyway and you are paying..in his case AOL the monthly internet amount, I have never understood the contract that limit the wifi which is why im glad mine doesnt
thank you for any advice.

WiFi at home of your router is from your ISP and its free .
Orange is that 3GB of Internet /Mobile data through the phone network connection rather than WiFi . Or is it Oranges own WiFi that you can connect to for free much like any free WiFi hotspot .

Just looked at it a bit more says unlimited date (fair usage of 750mb) and 3GB of BT openzone Wifi...I dont know what that is, main thing he will use though is his home router at night so he will be fine then.
Will let him know and no doubt he wont wait and order the phone today.

BT Openzone is a subscription wifi service that's available in lots of places, so when he's out and about he should check to see if there's openzone so that he's not using his mobile data. It uses people's BT Homehubs, and a lot of people don't even know they're being wireless raped.0 -
Unlimited data thats the Mobile Data that you connects you to the Internet via your phones network .
WiFi where you use the phones wireless connection to connect to a WiFi station that is either free like home router MacDonald s etc . Paid for connections are available to WiFi stations as well . One of which is the BT Openzone with in this case a free connection for up to 3GB of data .
Words don't mean what they say in the mobile phone industry < Unlimited means limited >.

Openzone as you say is a wifi subscription service, the homehub shared service is called BT FON, where the users agree to share a portion of their wifi in exchange for use of others (it does not affect the actual subscriber's usage) and the FON user is limited to a 512mb speed.0
