TESCO CC beware

Options
last month i was charges £12 od fee because my interest put me £4 over the limit. this was applied instantly on 3rd sept(should be the 5th but it fell on a sunday). I accepted this as after all i did go overdrawn.
today i recieved another charge for been £4 od. when i queried this i was told it was because i was od last month from the 3rd -5th then from the 5th to the 25th it fell on 2 periods of being od therefore incurring another £12 fee. when i pointed out that my new period starts on the 5th and therefore should have started on the 3rd as it fell on the sunday i was told no thats different.
so its ok 4 them to start their new period on the 3rd but mine starts the 5th therefore putting me od in 2 periods .bunch of t****.
i have since received the charge back but just be aware as this might happen to other people.:(

Someone has to pay for the 0% balance transfers credit card companies offer. :rotfl:

And those PPI refunds didn't come cheap.

And since banking charges were reduced from (approx) £25 to (approx) £12 for going over limit, etc, financial companies now have to double up on the number of times they charge for such things. :D
  • Good idea is never to go near your limit - leave £100 or so it it cannot happen.

But thanks for the warning - but really this kind of thing does happen if you run it close to the wire.

this kind of thing should`nt happen though ...if i had not contacted them i would have also been charged next month as the 2nd charge would have also put me od (without my knoledge until it was too late).so for £4 over limit i would have been charged £36 in total.
there was no notice of the charge being applied it was as soon as the interest put me over there was a £12 charge applied,my bank doesnt apply charges this quick why should tescos be allowed to.

    Errrr.....

It's not a good idea to run your credit card at or over its limit.

My best advice to the OP is to cut this card up immediately, as it would appear that they can't afford to use it.

yeah cause u no my financial circumstances inside out don`t u.
of cause i can afford to use it,it was an oversite of £4 not £400.
And if banks/cc companies were made to update their systems instantly (not in their intrest to do this) then things like this would happen less.

So keep away from your credit limit and avoid charges then. Simples.

It is up to YOU to manage your spending, not the banks or card companies.

By the way, the interest didn't put you over your limit, your spending did.
