    Unfortunately for me... my housemate doesn't want to watch 'interesting' T.V... we're stuck with Embarrassing Bodies from On Demand.

    Yummy. ;_;

    Oh dear! Have you got a TV in your room? Seems a bit much you have to watch something you don't want to!

    Apparently it is yesterday's episode Suzy, it's great that these people have seen such good results but sometimes I glance at the TV and see man bits. Not sexy. LOL.

    Thanks for that Claire

    The trouble is she has had over 5 of these mini memory tests, she always seems to do quite well with them to be honest. She has had a brain scan which shows significant shrinkage of the brain and has been referred to a psychiatrist but still no treatment or any offer of help.

    Its as though she is on her best behaviour when she is with the Dr. Totally denying that she thinks people are living in her house/locking herself in etc

    the best help we have received are a couple of leaflets about how to help her remember simple tasks.

    I work in Staffordshire social services & we have a 24 hour scheme called the stay at home scheme which basically are carers that spend 3 weeks with the person, the 1st week they are there 24/7 assessing what the person is doing every minute of the day, the 2nd week there are there for blocks of 2/3 hrs 4 times a day & the 3rd week they are there for 4 x 30mins a day. After this there is usually an outcome whether this is they remain at home with care or they go into long term care. This usually gives them chance to assess how the person is coping at home alone.As you probably know its important to get the person onto medication sooner rather than later but this is obviously down to the Dr. Please ask the Dr about this but also try speaking to the local social services, there is usually a waiting list i`m afraid but at least its a start.

    Hope this helps
